What do your students learn?

Every student has their own ambitions and ideals. One thing that unites all of us is a love of nature and an aversion to profiteering, blind-faith-based religion. The Celtic system of belief treats both the male and female as sacred in distinct and powerful ways. Likewise, race is a non-issue in the tribal traditions; those who live as part of the tribe are part of the tribe, without reference to skin color. Men and women of all backgrounds, races and sexual orientation can feel welcome studying at our temples. Ultimately they will learn about themselves, about the world around them, and about that tender connection between us all.

Religious experiences should not be acts of faith alone. They should be practical and lucid as well as personally meaningful. With patience and good technique, anyone can train to find the subtlest truths in the world around us. The test of every belief is simple: can it be observed in nature?

Techniques include a wide range of meditative and magical techniques. Success relies on perseverance and working closely with a teacher. The discipline and respect necessary to maintain this relationship is cultivated by student and teacher alike.

Classes are offered on a weekly basis in several time slots to fit any schedule. A sample class is always available at no charge. Come into your area's temple to learn and see if this path is for you!

Frequently asked questions:

Is this Celtic Spirituality?
Yes, and then some. Spirituality is a vague word; generally, it is a private pursuit. We foster a deep personal spirituality in each of our students, and we have a much more communal focus as well. As one learns and matures it is possible to function with other students like a healthy family - something our Society regards with great esteem.

Is this Druidism?
Yes, with patience! 'Druidism' or druíocht is reserved for advanced students seeking to become committed priests and teachers. Everyone starts off learning Celtic traditional religion which is separate from druíocht. What is this religion? You might know it as Celtic Reconstructionism; we call it Slí na nDeithe (Way of the Gods).

Is this Celtic Shamanism?
We have 'shamanic' techniques. Trances and spirit contact can be an important part of personal development, but they're only a small part of the tradition - or life. More important is understanding your own purpose in life, whatever it may be, and how best to reach it.

How do I know it's for me?
You don't. But, there's only one way to find out - come in to a temple and try a sample class. It's free and, no matter what, you'll walk away with some good teachings!
